The gift of access & equity

Contribute to Assets for Artists and the Studios at MASS MoCA‘s program fund and give an artist access to life-changing programs.

“Attending these workshops and discussing our particular challenges as artists in a safe space with others facing similar challenges was truly a remarkable experience. Due to the unique nature of the obstacles we face in our profession, it can be difficult to receive advice from family and friends. Meeting other artists facing similar struggles, and witnessing how they each work to build a life around their practices was truly inspiring.

By contributing to Assets for Artists’ program fund, you help ensure that artists have the tools and support they need to succeed in their creative practice. Whether its through our capacity-building program that provides working capital and financial and business training for how to maximize it, or our 150 annual artist residencies that give artists the MASS MoCA laboratory to develop their outstanding work, or our in-person and online workshops that increase financial and business resiliency, we’re on the ground with practicing artists and responding rapidly to their needs.

Direct services by artists for artists are critical to the creative sector’s survival.

Establish an Artist Fellowship Fund in Your Name

Attending an artist residency gets expensive for any artist. In addition to the residency fees, there’s travel, materials, food and incidentals, loss of income for taking time off to be in residence, childcare, pet care, etc. An artist fellowship removes the first of these costs (the residency fees). With additional support we can reduce other financial burdens through the creation of an additional stipend.

Gifts of any amount, even a a few dollars, are welcome and will be combined with other gifts to support our general fund. A gift of $3,000 will fund four weeks of residency fees at the Studios at MASS MoCA for one visiting artist and establishes a fellowship in your or a loved one’s name.

Donations to the Studios at MASS MoCA program at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art—a 501(c)(3) organization—are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Are you a university wishing to establish a fellowship for your current M.F.A. students? Learn how the Studios is partnering with schools around the country to support BIPOC artists through the pandemic.
