Are you a Holyoke-based artist/creative worker who could use grant funding and professional development support? Read on!
Assets for Artists is thrilled to announce our second year of programming in Holyoke, Massachusetts, with grants up to $4,000 for individual artists in all disciplines! We’re excited about the growing creative community in Holyoke, and our program offers professional development resources and seed grants to artists interested in strengthening the financial sustainability of their creative practice. With lead support from the Surdna Foundation, we are excited to enroll a new cohort of Holyoke-based artists (or artists committed to re-locating to Holyoke) who are looking to give their creative practice a boost.
You have an amazing arts community, Holyoke! For this Holyoke-focused program, we’re teaming up with the City of Holyoke, SPARK, Nuestras Raices, and the Holyoke Creative Arts Center to bring Assets for Artists to Holyoke in a way that complements the great resources already available to Holyoke artists.

Holyoke Matched Savings Program
Assets for Artists’ matched savings program is an innovative support model that helps artists strengthen their creative practice and grow its long-term sustainability. Since 2008, Assets for Artists has served over 500 artists across the Northeast.
Artists selected for our 2017 Holyoke Matched Savings Program will receive:
A “matched savings” grant that serves as working capital to be invested in the artist’s creative practice. Participants are provided with grants of $1,000 to $4,000 to match $1,000 to $2,000 of the artist’s own savings, and the combined amount is used by the artist toward implementing their business/career plan.
Free professional development services, including workshops on financial management and business planning to be held in Holyoke in March & April 2017.
Free one-on-one coaching in the development of the artist’s business plan.
Artists and creative entrepreneurs in all disciplines and financial circumstances are welcome to apply!
If you’re an artist/maker motivated to improve your financial & business management skills and to make investments aimed at growing your creative practice, we’d love to hear from you.
To be eligible for our Holyoke program, you must have a home or studio address in Holyoke, MA, or be committed to re-locating to Holyoke within the next 12 months.
|“Assets for Artists did exactly what I was hoping it would do: It gave me skills and knowledge in areas I was lacking, incentive to create a habit of putting money aside, and guidelines for thinking about my business in clear and efficient ways.” – Matt Lorenz, Amherst-based musician|
“This is a great program. A4A helped me start my business and get it off the ground. Now things that seemed impossible before Assets for Artists are tangible and make sense. The financial wisdom and confidence I’ve gained have led me to other major financial and life decisions.” – Priya Nadkarni, Springfield-based painter
