Macey Faiella is co-owner of creative reuse space, Knack, located in the Eastworks building in Easthampton, MA. Knack: The Art of Clever Reuse is a multipurpose venue, offering workshops in DIY craft, access to an abundance of recycled donated craft materials, an opportunity to shop for handcrafted gifts made by local artisans, and an excellent space for parties.
The possibility of Knack began to solidify just over a year ago when Macey and her fellow co-owner Amber Ladley set up a pop-up shop in downtown Northampton to sell upcycled craft goods from 18 local artists. Their success propelled them into motion and they began the search for Knack’s future home the next month. Finally, the pair selected Eastworks, a mill building turned art, community, and retail space, right in the center of Easthampton.
In an interview earlier this year with Business West, Macey talks about Knack’s relationship with the surrounding community. “In such an artsy community, it seemed like a perfect fit,” she said. “Everything is donated, much of it from artists in the area […] People are really craving that kind of thing and getting more involved in the arts and what’s available. It’s been a nice fit for us, and we definitely feel that vibe — that this is a town that supports that kind of thing.”
A lifelong crafter, Macey is thrilled to have found the perfect way to share her passion with others in her community. Her motto: Don’t throw that away!
