As an affiliate of BlackPR.com, Eartha Watts-Hicks has written countless press releases for products, services, and events. Many, requested by not-for-profits, small business owners, independent musicians, authors, and publishers, have effectively gained national and international exposure. Eartha offers a range of publicity services and specializes in digital media kits.
Eartha is a member of Women in PR, the Black Public Relations Society, the New York Association of Black Journalist, as well as a contributing writer for Harlem World’s Magazine’s blog site and several other online publications. In addition, Eartha is a former board member of Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association a 501(c)(3), having served two terms as director of publications.
On the creative spectrum, Earthais a songwriter, music publisher, and member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). A fiction fellow of the Center for Black Literature and the North Country Institute, Eartha has studied under a host of award winning authors, including Valerie Wilson Wesley, Chris Abani, and Bernice McFadden. Eartha is also a member of the acclaimed Harlem Writers Guild, an exclusive network of writers whose roster has included Lorraine Hansberry, Sarah Elizabeth Wright, Audrey Lorde, Grace F. Edwards, Walter Dean Myers, Ruby Dee, Paul Robson, Maya Angelou, and Terri McMillan.
Earthatone Enterprises was founded by Eartha Watts-Hicks in 2001 and officially laughed as an LLC in 2013. Earthatone Books is an imprint of Earthatone Enterprises, LLC. In June of 2013, Eartha Watts-Hicks received the Just R.E.A.D. ‘literary game changers’ Award by the NYCHA branch of the NAACP. Her debut novel, Love Changes, was recommended as a summer read by The New York Amsterdam News
