Alison Cook Beatty received her training at The Boston Conservatory where she earned a BFA in Dance and was awarded The Ruth Sandholm Ambrose Scholarship Award, among other scholarships. She joined Paul Taylor’s Taylor 2 Dance Company in 2002 and remained there until 2008, performing and teaching Mr. Taylor’s repertoire nationally and internationally. She enjoys teaching and spreading her love for dance and is currently on faculty at The Joffrey Ballet School, and has taught at many other dance studios. Alison has also worked with numerous dance companies and choreographers, such as The Paul Taylor Dance Company, David Dorfman Dance, and Gabriela Poler-Buzali (current Executive Director of The Jose Limon Dance Company). More recently, she has worked and performed with The Amy Marshall Dance Company, Thang Dao Dance Company, Morales Dance, and more.
Alison is also the founder and Artistic Director of the ACB Dance Company, a classically-based modern dance company that explores the universal human condition through expansive and emotionally driven movement grounded in American modern dance. Over the short 1 year since the company’s inception, the group’s stunning work has been performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Ailey Citigroup Theater, Dumbo Dance Festival, Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance, Milford Fine Arts Council, and many more. Under the Artistic Direction of Alison Cook Beatty, the company’s choreography has been commissioned by companies such as Ballet Next, Columbia Ballet Collaborative and Carolina Ballet Theater. Most recently, her work has performed at The Joyce Theater, 92nd Street Y and Kaatsbaan.
