In 2008, Assets for Artists opened its matched savings account program for artists in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. We went statewide in 2011, enrolling artists throughout Massachusetts. Due to the generous support of new partners, Assets for Artists is expanding into three new states in 2013! We are in the process of adding new artists in Portland, Maine; New York City; and Rhode Island. We hope to secure funds to keep the program going in these locations in the future — and to keep expanding into new communities.
Available to low and moderate income artists (as defined by our funding sources) artists must submit documentation of income eligibility. But before we get to that point we make selections through a simple pre-application process. Our pre-application process and deadlines will vary depending on geographic location.
We’re currently not accepting applications in any of our program locations. Please check back or follow us on Facebook or Twitter for updates on available slots in the program.

When will grant applications for 2012 become available? I am writing a non-fiction book.

The information above is now updated. We don’t expect to announce a next application round before summer 2012. Facebook or Twitter is the best way to keep an eye out for announcements (and we post a lot of news on other grants, trainings and good opportunities for artists).

I work at a CDC in Boston and want to help local artist in the Roxbury area. How can my company become involved in Assests for Artist?
Hi, My name is Moe Pelissier. I am an oil painter living in Portsmouth, N.H.
If you happen to accept some applicants from outside massachussetts I would be very interested in applying. Please keep me in mind and contact me please.
Thanks,
Moe
