How to Apply

From 2008-2010, the matched savings account program was only open to artists in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. For 2011, we opened enrollment to artists statewide, and the required financial and business training was offered in Boston, Lowell, and Pittsfield.

Our matched savings accounts are only available to low- to moderate-income artists (as defined by our funding sources). There’s a fair amount of paperwork to document income eligibility, but before we get to that point we make preliminary selections through a relatively simple pre-application process.

The next pre-application round for Massachusetts artists in all disciplines will be announced in summer 2012. If funding allows, we may invite applications from some other regions outside of Massachusetts, as well.

Follow us on Facebook or Twitter to catch our news about available slots in our program.

  1. When will grant applications for 2012 become available? I am writing a non-fiction book.

  2. I am interested in applying for 2012 as well. When will these applications become available?

  3. The information above is now updated. We don’t expect to announce a next application round before summer 2012. Facebook or Twitter is the best way to keep an eye out for announcements (and we post a lot of news on other grants, trainings and good opportunities for artists).
